There are several types of alarms we have in our daily lives. The three most common alarms that we use are fire alarms, car alarms, and house alarms. Each one is designed to protect our belongings from unsuspected events. In this article we are going to look at all three alarms and why we use alarms.
First we will look at fire alarms. There are a couple of types of fire alarms. We have the fire alarms at the fire departments that sound when they have an emergency and then we have the fire alarms in our houses or smoke detectors. The smoke detectors are going to signal us when there is a suspected fire. In many cases the complexes we live in our going to have a secondary fire alarm system that is tied directly to the fire alarms at the fire departments. This type of fire alarm allows the company to know when a fire is suspected at a building, to help them respond as soon as possible. For private homes the smoke detector is going to be the best alarm we have to let us know there is smoke in the building, which is indicative of a fire. They are extremely loud to help awaken us in our sleep.
Car alarms are a little bit simpler. Most of the cars from 2000 on are going to come with factory installed car alarms that are linked to our key fobs. The car alarms are going to offer a way to arm the alarm as well as hit a panic button when necessary on the key fob. The actual alarm is going to activate security with the car. This means the doors will automatically lock and if someone tries to tamper with the car we are able to hear the alarm and prevent the car from being stolen. The main purpose of any car alarm or alarm is going to be to alert the owner of a possible misdeed. In the case of car alarms we are alerted when someone tries to break in. It can also be used as a method to alert of trouble. If anyone is involved in a carjacking or a perpetrator tries to abduct them in the vicinity of their car the alarm will alert trouble and usually deter the perpetrator from further harming the individual.
Lastly house alarms are very important. House alarms differ in their uses. Some of the simpler alarms will only work to tell the security company there is an intruder in the home or a potential break in. You can also elect to choose a house alarm that will alert the company when there is a fire at the home. We of course use house alarms to protect ourselves as well as our most important possessions. When we go on vacation we want to know that there is a company and police, who are going to be alerted in case of trouble. Even if we are just out to dinner or the theatre we want to be assured that when the home is left unattended the place and items inside will be safe.
Crime though we all don’t like to think about it, is very much out there. There are several different crimes and to protect ourselves we must have some type of alarm that is going to alert the authorities or ourselves to a possible issue. Fire alarms are typically to protect the safety of ourselves and our homes, while car alarms and home alarms are mostly to protect our unattended items from intruders. We use alarms above all for protection.
